The long answer however, requires a little more work on your part. Why not take the quiz below to figure out if you need a Slant Fin humidifier? It's a short quiz, takes less than 1 minute and is comprised only of multiple choice questions - Yes and No are the only two answers.

Choose Slant Fin humidifiers

Simply put, the Slant Fin range of humidifiers (now sold under the Enviracaire brand) are the best humidifiers available out there. I can say this with confidence because I have owned over 4 models in the last decade and they simply are a delight to use. Of course, don't take my word for it, read on to find out what are the benefits that this family of humidifiers offers.

Do I need a to buy a humidifier?

Why a Slant Fin?

These are the only brand of humidifiers that are available on the market that use the anti-bacterial properties of ultra-violet light to provide a germ free mist that is up to 99.999% free of mold, germs and bacteria. These are not the company's claims but are the results of independent testing done by laboratories around the country. This process is also enhanced by the use of boiling water which is passed through filters knows as mineral absorption pads. This makes sure that the salts in the water don't get vaporized and become a part of the mist. If the salts do come up with the water then you will get a mist that has small sediments in it, which looks like chalky water. This mist can be harmful to patients suffering from allergies, asthma and other respiratory problems. With the Slant Fin range, this is never a problem and neither is the 'white dust' that users of other humidifiers report.

White dust is formed by the mineral sediments in the water becoming vaporized. Other than causing respiratory problems, it can settle on furniture and other embellishments in your room. With Slant Fin humidifiers, you don't have to worry about white dust at all.

Not only is the product on of the healthiest one the market, the company also backs them up with a one year garuntee and their excellent after sales service. The company has been around since 1949 and have made quite a mark on the air purifier industry. After their merger with Enviracaire, all Slant Fin humidifiers are now sold under the Enviracaire name.

99.999% Pure. 100% Reccomended.

Their dual germicidal process involving Ultra Violet light as well as boiling water not only ensure that no bacteria are present in the mist that the system make but also makes it so that there are no bacteria breeding in the standing water. This technology is far superior to the momentary boiling that other humidifiers use which is ineffective at killing bacteria to say the least.

The mineral absorption pads that are placed prevent the build up of mineral salts in the stainless steel tank which means you won't have to replace it anytime soon. Since the minerals are filtered out before the water is boiled, the humidifier produces mist that is free of mineral dust — great news for all those customers who suffer from respiratory disorders of any kind.

For customers who like to add a little bit of something to their humidifier's mist, there is a medicinal cup that is available as well. I use it to add in Eucalyptus oil and sometimes a dab of Vicks dissolved in hot water.

Set & forget humidifying.

While the unit has manual controls for humidity levels, you can pretty much set it to a moderate level and let it be. The variable high to low settings are adjusted using a regulator much like the one you use to set the speed of your fan. This makes operating the humidifier a breeze.

With other humidifiers you have to constantly worry about refilling the humidifier's water reservoir but the Slant Fin/Enviracaire range comes with a set of indicators that make using it in the long run an easy task. There is an indicator that lets you know when your UV bulb needs to be replaced as well as one that tells you when your system is running low on water.

A quick note about the UV bulb though. At 1,000 bulb hours it is highly unlikely that you will ever burn out of the one you already have and need a new one. I have never seen the UV replacement light come on all the years I've owned one of these amazing machines.
